A Seat In The Park is a collection of short, one‑act plays by the British playwright Cherry Vooght.
We are performing three of the plays: “Everything In The Garden”, “The Pleasure of Your Company” and “Night Song”.
The plays are written primarily in a light comic style, but beneath the humour Vooght examines ordinary social situations—such as conversations between friends, chance encounters, and familiar domestic environments—and uses them to reveal unspoken feelings, rivalries, disappointments, and quiet hopes. The tone often appears comic on the surface, but moments of pathos, irony, and emotional insight emerge as the characters’ inner lives are gradually exposed.
